Sleep, Sweet Sleep

Abby slept almost eight hours straight last night. Woo Hoo!!! It makes me almost not care that she's been cranky and not a good napper today.

Thanksgiving Fun

This year we went to my father-in-law's house for Thanksgiving. As usual, I was in charge of bringing the pies. This year I tried a new recipe for a caramel apple pie and made the required pumpkin pie. Both turned out really well. I think I'm finally getting good at crusts -- so hard to get them perfectly flaky. Abby wore a super cute fall dress my mom bought her. Of course she promptly peed on it as soon as we got there and before we were able to take any pictures. It was especially vexing because the dress was a little too tight and it was the first and last time she'd be able to wear it -- my chunky monkey has now outgrown her 0-3 month clothes at 6 weeks. Anyway, I washed the dress and got this picture several days later.

Lost and Found

About five months ago I lost my keys. We looked everywhere for them, but to no avail. Since we only have one car, and enter our house through the garage when we pull in, I've been able to live without my keys this whole time. We were going to get them replaced, but found out that to get a new car key would cost around $200. Yikes! For that price you'd think we drive a beamer or something. Nope, just a run of the mill Honda Accord. Apparently the new keys are laser cut and quite expensive to replace.

Fast forward to a week or so ago. Dave was cleaning out our garage and found an empty box from one of my china place settings. He had gotten me the setting as a birthday gift in May. Even though I told him the box was empty and he could throw it away, he decided to take a peek. Lo and behold, the box contained my keys! Who would have thought!

Plucky Ducky

Here are some cute photos of Abby in her first Halloween costume. Dave really likes ducks, and some friends of ours gave us this costume that their little girl outgrew before she could wear, so our little one was a "plucky ducky" for Halloween. We went to our church's Halloween festival to show her off, and she did just awesome!
